The Annual Fund

Gifts to the annual fund allow the Directors to choose specific areas of need within our operational costs, educational costs or to supplement our program to better support our students and families. Your contributions do make a difference. The contributions help us stay up to date with the latest computer equipment and technology, curriculum development and programming. This may also include therapeutic riding, cross-country skiing, field trips, emergency student needs, parent training and more.

The Annual Fund begins in early July and runs through the following June. This fund was created in May of 2008.

The Library Fund

The Collaborative school is seeking funds to establish a library as an integral part of our school. The library will be used for specialized programming to create in our students an excitement about reading, provide instruction and practice in academic research, to teach methods of locating materials using an electronic cataloging system, give them exposure to a greater selection of reading materials, and simply to put books in their hands that will enlarge and enrich their view of the world around them. These skills will also better prepare them for transition back to their public schools and into the adult world.

Our goal is to raise $30,000 for this project. The initial funds will be used to purchase books, electronic and book research materials, magazine subscriptions, desktop computer and cataloging system, book shelves and other furnishings and to cover the cost for staff training and library system management. We have raised $23,000 toward our goal.

The Scholarship Fund

The Scholarship fund was established in January of 2008. This fund will be used to help graduating seniors of the Collaborative School to pursue education beyond high school, including college or technical training. It is our belief that further education will broaden perspectives, empower our students and enhance life opportunities. The funds will go directly to the educational institution. The award will range from $500-$1500 and is subject to availability of funds. The scholarship selection process would involve a committee made up of a Board member, a program administrator, one clinical and one educational staff member. Merit for scholarship is determined by an evaluation of applicant using submitted application and staff knowledge of the student.
