Implementing special education and behavioral programs for students with emotional and behavioral difficulties and Autism, The Collaborative School specializes in treating and educating students in grades K-12 with mental health diagnoses including mood disorders, complex trauma, ASD, and attachment disorders.  We are looking for a team member who can support our special and unique kids. 

Social Worker

$2,000 Sign on bonus

​The Collaborative School seeks a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (preferred) or an LMSW-CC with a strong clinical background for a full-time, day treatment position (school-year calendar with limited summer) in the Middle School Classroom. The Collaborative School is a division of The Maine Special Education Mental Health Collaborative and is a Special Purpose Private School licensed by the Maine Department of Education and DHHS. 

 

The Collaborative School specializes in the treatment and education of students in grades K-12 with mental health diagnoses, including mood disorders, complex trauma, Autism Spectrum Disorder Level I, and attachment disorders.  Staff at The Collaborative School receives cutting edge professional development opportunities in innovative practices and approaches in both mental health and education.  We have ongoing consultation with Allegra Hirsh-Wright, LCSW (trauma, TF-CBT).

 

Staff are encouraged to advance professionally in the fields of social work, psychology, and/or education through course reimbursements and workshops.

 

Applicants should be interested in working within a multi-disciplinary mental health special education team. Social work involves individual, group, and family work.

The Collaborative School has current openings at the primary and secondary levels for an Education Technician III/Behavioral Health Professional. The Collaborative School specializes in treating and educating students in grades K-12 with mental health diagnoses including mood disorders, complex trauma, autism, and attachment disorders. Staff at The Collaborative School receives cutting-edge professional development opportunities in innovative practices and approaches in both mental health and education. Staff is encouraged to advance professionally in the fields of social work, psychology, and/or education through advancement opportunities, course reimbursement, and future internship placements. â€‹

Qualifications: Must have a bachelor's degree or a minimum of 90 credit hours. Must hold or is eligible for State of Maine Ed Tech III certification, and an interest and ability to work effectively with children with emotional disabilities. Behavior Health Professional Certification is a plus, however, we supply training for BHP Certification if not already BHP Certified.

Substitute Positions 

The Collaborative School has openings for substitute positions to start immediately. The Collaborative School is a division of The Maine Special Education Mental Health Collaborative and is a Special Purpose Private School licensed by the Maine Department of Education.  The Collaborative School specializes in the treatment and education of students in grades K-12 with mental health diagnoses including mood disorders, complex trauma, ASD, and attachment disorders. 

 

Qualifications: High school diploma required

 

Description: Substitute for teacher or ed tech in a classroom with 5-6 other staff members supporting students with emotional disabilities, Implementing special education and behavioral programs with individual or groups of students.
