The Collaborative School
Transition Planning
Vocational Development
The Collaborative School provides vocational development opportunities for each high school student. Students participate in vocational activities as part of the curriculum as they begin to develop their education and employment goals.
In order to facilitate career exploration activities, our full-time transition coordinator meets with students to administer vocational assessments and develop individualized transition plans. These plans generally include activities like employer interviews, tours, job shadows, and internships.
Post-Secondary Education
As part of our transition work, we support students in pursuing post-secondary educational opportunities upon graduation. Throughout high school, students practice assessments like the PSAT, SAT, and Accuplacer. Preparatory activities include enrolling in college courses for credit during their junior or senior years, participating in college tours, applying for financial aid, and completing college applications. We also help students investigate adult education or specialized training programs to increase their employability skills.
